Real Estate Nashville TN .COM & TheDailyClassifieds.Com Merge

23 11 2008

The regional classifieds website TheDailyClassifieds.Com has merged with the Real Estate website “Real Estate Nashville TN“. This move will create a larger Real Estate listing base for those interested in shopping the Nashville – Middle Tennessee markets. TheDailyClassifieds.Com (TDC) offers Licensed Real Estate agents a quick efficient way to market their properties not only on TDC but on 10 of the top Real Estate search sites. Those include CraigsList, Trulia, Yahoo Real Estate, Zillow, Google Base and more. TDC has created a seamless unloading system that requires agents only have to enter their listings one time in the regional MLS ( RealTracs ). The rest of the uploading is accomplished by TDC. This process assures the agents a good Internet presences while saving them valuable time. To compete for today’s Real Estate listing the agent must be able to demonstrate to the potential customer their ability to market on the Internet. This merger and the launching of their Open House site www.OpenHousesNashville.Com have enabled TDC to become a much larger player for the Realtors advertising dollar. TDC expects to make more expansion announcements in December 08.

Bad News -Good News

The Bad News:
Like most I really didn’t realize how vulnerable we are to fire until I became a dealer for the Fire Retardant Paints manufactured by No-Burn International. Basically we are naive to Fire Prevention techniques we need to apply in our homes. We think that if we have smoke alarms we are protected or at least we think that this is all that is available. Maybe if we push the envelope we buy a Fire Extinguisher. We could be dead wrong. Yes we know not to smoke in bed and never leave a stove unattended. No wait a minute we don’t, the most likely places for a fire in your home are #1. Kitchen (Cooking) #2. Bedroom (Smoking, Can You Believe it?) & (Candles, use a mood light). We need to see the larger picture! Not to belabor you with all the 10 myths about home fires but please review the top five #1″It Won’t Happen to me” #2. It will happen during the day #3. I’ll be at home when a fire breaks out #4. I’ll be aware of the fire when it starts #5. A phone will be available and I’ll just call the Fire Department.  OK, you get the picture but consider it sometimes only takes less than 5 minutes for a room to become engulfed in flame & smoke. Then consider that 50% of the time the Fire Department’s response time is in the 5 minute range if you live in a metropolitan district. What happens the other 50% ? Live in a rural area? We do and it multiplies the problem. See a Real Story From the Pegram Tennessee Volunteer Fire Department. In fact the truth is we just leave it up to the Fire Department. If we have a fire we just call the fire department and the problem is solved. We’ll let them deal with our burning attic that’s stuffed with the junk we’ve conveniently hidden there for years.  No need to worry about those gas cans – propane bottles – paint cans stored in the basement or garage, the Fireman will find them. We place the burden squarely on their shoulders. We create the perfect Roman Candle and we let them try to put it out. Operating budgets are always a problem for the Fire Departments but now even more so  ” Financial Crisis and the Fire Service”. We need to take more responsibility for the protection of our families and homes through appling additional layers of protection to increase but escape and reaction time.
Enough, this article could go on for pages. Let’s get the good news.

The Good News:
We now really can do something affordable to help ourselves and the Fire Departments save lives and protect our homes. There is a line of affordable Fire Retardant Products called No-Burn. These are highly tested products ( Testing Info ) that really work. See Videos. The Products include Wood-Gard that is used on the framework of the home (all the raw wood). No-Burn “Plus” that is a white latex paint for interior walls. Fabric-Gard for furniture and fabrics. No-Burn Original for items like cabinets and finished woods. Did you know that your home has a total wood content five time greater than the square footage of the flooring. Yes, the average 2000 square foot home has approximately 10,000 square feet of wood. Man, that’s a lot of fuel. All of this wood can be treated as a home is being built. Builder’s Risk & Home Owners Insurance Discounts are available. It will last for the life of the structure and it has a Mold Inhibitor included in it. So now you are protecting your entire house from fire and mold for the cost of a small surround sound system. Suggestion: if it’s a choice between a surround sound and fire protection go ahead and run the wiring for the surround sound and install it later. Protect your investment. I’m not saying your house will be fire proof (anything will burn at the right temperature) but you sure will be stacking the deck in your favor in the game of Fire Prevention. This isn’t just for new construction consider having your kitchen and bedroom treated. Remolding? It’s a perfect time to include No-Burn into the project. Except for the Fabric-Gard the products are not sold to the public they are applied by the local dealer that is trained to apply the products in accordance with the laboratory testing results. You don’t want someone cutting corners when it comes to your safety. If you are interested please give us a call 615-673-1112 or email us at DanZ@NashvilleFireandSafety.Com. Estimates are free and if we don’t have the right solutions will be glad to share our knowledge with you. Please support your Volunteer Fire Departments. Did you know you can Volunteer to your department without being a Fire Fighter? Call them and ask how you can help.
